Farington Bowling Green is recognised as one of the top greens in the area thanks to the dedication of our greenkeeper and his small band of helpers. The club offers competitive bowling in local leagues, at various standards, from late March until the end of September.
During the winter months, we run competitions on a more social basis, for those hardier members of the club who wish to keep their ‘hand in’.
New members are always welcome and anybody interested in joining should contact Peter Wilson on 01772 397795 or 07724146222 email :- firstname.lastname@example.org
The club staged their first Christmas Open Doubles Competition on Saturday 29th December and all who took part agreed it was a great success. Starting at 10-30am, with sausage and bacon butties being served for lunch, 24 couples played three games each in 3 round robin leagues followed by a semi-final and ultimately a final finishing at 3-30pm.
Winners: John Bennett and Mick Lerning
Runners up: Barbara Green and Les Crosby
Our thanks to Wendy and Stewart for staging the event.
